ED 250 Primary protection
|
The ED250 surge protection is designed to protect, against direct and indirect effects of lightning, the low voltage network of an installation. The ED250 is particularly useful in the high keraunic level area where the risk of heavy surge current or even direct strike is high. The ED250 is able to protect a 3 phase (both TNC and TNS) network.
The ED250 is unique because of the very low residual voltage, 900V (at 15kA acc. to 10/350µs). This product is designed to withstand a 25 kA-10/350 µs lightning impulse (similar to the effect of a direct strike on the building) : the "no-gap" technology used allows the better behaviour possible regarding the LV network (no follow current).
To meet the various national or international SPD standards, the ED250 includes a thermal disconnection mechanism as well as fault indicators and a switch for remote signalisation.
It's also available in 120V, 320V and 400V versions.
ED250 follows the standards: SS-EN 61643-11 (Swedish), IEC 61643-11 (International), UL 1449-ed2 (USA), NFC 61740-95 (France) and VDE 0675-6 (Germany).
